Kenya, Botswana, Namibia and the Seychelles: these are the magical places photographer Martin Harvey visited and immortalised in his aerial portfolio ‘Africa from Above’.
Here’s an appetiser for what awaits you in the current issue of Africa Geographic.

Kenya: A Maasai cattle farmer with his herd, his most important possession. The animals represent wealth and are used as a form of currency.

Kenya: Wildebeest are trapped by high cliffs as they attempt to cross the Mara River in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Thousands die every year due to the strong current, predators and other challenges.

Botswana: Cape buffaloes inhabit swamps and floodplains as well as mopane grasslands. The herds consist of related females and are surrounded by sub-herds of bachelor males, high-ranking males, females and elders.

Namibia: Sand dunes of the Namib, our planet’s oldest desert, can reach up to 400 metres in height. This photograph was taken at Sossusvlei in the Namib-Naukluft National Park.
